Halo-Halo at Chowking
Temperatures are finally cooling down (in a relative sense) to 32C/90F! My shaved ice drink/dessert consumption has been on an all-time high the past week because of the extreme heat and humidity. Today, I treated my family to halo-halo, which literally means mix-mix, and is a popular dessert of shaved ice, milk and different toppings (ours had toasted pinipig or rice flakes, leche flan or milk flan, saba or cardaba banana, mongo beans, gulaman or jellies made from dried seaweed, sago pearls, milk and ube or purple yam ice cream). Definitely a yummy way to cool down!
